The Museum

On the 7th of August Room 2 went to the Wanganui Museum. We looked at bird skeletons and their feathers . We looked at stuffed birds like the Kereru and Starlings .   I like going to the Museum because every time I go there it has lots of interesting artifacts.

This is Seth with a flying feather . There are two types of feathers, a body feather and the flying feather. the flying feather  is smooth to lift the bird off the ground. The body feathers are fluffy and keep the bird warm.

A day at Whakapapa !!!!!!!!!!!

Brrrrr . It's cold up the mountain! On Monday Room 2 from Fordell  went to Whakapapa on Mount Ruapehu . The people who weren't good at skiing went to Happy Valley and the slightly better skiers went higher up the mountain but first we had to get on our gear . What  a squash ! Finally we were on our way, we had a lesson then we went up the magic carpet and went to lunch. After lunch we had 2 hours independent skiing . Ethan and I skied right to the bottom and went up the chair lift then up the magic carpet and skied down . We did that about 5 times . What great day! The only thing I didn't like was Javan  calling me Briede!
